Perhaps against my better judgement, I let my little brother talk me into a trip to Scotland to tackle the 7 Stanes track at Kirroughtree Forest Part, just outside Newtownstewart in Galloway. Here's the GPS elevation profile, which really doesn't do our 32km justice. The tracks are marked like ski runs; most of this run was black, and it was tough going.
A couple of tumbles; no major injuries. I did take down a tree, however. Slid into it sideways off the track, and it and I ended up down the slope. All part of the fun...
We're doing it again! This time we are biking from Petra in Jordan up to Nazareth in Israel, to raise money for the Nazareth Hospital CT Scanner appeal. Last year we raised over £50,000 for the Children's Unit! Nazareth is the largest Arab town in Israel; the people are lovely, and the kids are awesome. Nazareth also treats kids in the West Bank of Palestine who have very limited access to healthcare. They need your help! Go to my sponsorship page to find out more and see what you can do! Maybe even join us..?
